Change

Everything around me is changing. Even I am changing and I don't deny it. The Holy Spirit inside me is slowly changing my heart and helping me to see things in a different perspective with each passing day...

I never expected that God would bring me closer to the people that I never thought possible... God was slowly replacing the envy, jealousy, pride and self-centredness in me with his great almighty love and helping me to love others just the way they are... What a great joy to now be able to feel happy for the blessings of the people around me instead of comparing myself with them and feeling bitter for not having what they have!!

God has also given me the grace and capacity to give up something which I never thought was possible.

In the past week when I felt really overwhealmed with the problems surrounding me, I chanced upon the story of Joseph in the Bible... and it reminded me that even during trials, God is at work in my life. In fact, now I really see trials as tools that God uses to help me develop the *fruit of the Spirit. The story of Joseph again reminded me that everything in life happens for a purpose and for a good one. We may not realise this purpose in the midst of our troubles but when we look back at it, we will realise that it was only necessary for it to happen in order for God to accomplish certain things in our lives.

God loves us too much to take a passive role in the shaping of our character.

Knowing this and trusting that God's timing and His plan is always the best were the two valuable lessons that I have learnt from the trial I am facing now.

* the Fruit of the Spirit
- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control

Home Sweet Home

Will finally be going back home on a weekend! I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend at home after a really busy week in school... =)

After hours of brainstorming and discussion, Janice and I finally presented our CCL lesson today. Although my 'P3' class was a little more boisterous than usual (all thanks to my dear 'classmates for sabo-ing me), the whole lesson on the whole proceeded pretty smoothly...Thank God! ;) Well, I believe now that the lesson is over, there's a huge load off my mind as well as Janice's. :)

Oh yea....Thursdays from next week onwards will be a little more interesting for me because I will be studying the book of Psalms with Pastor Wesley and company... Haha.. I have looked through the notes and it looks really interesting! Looking forward to studying God's word. =)

I have been toying with this idea in my mind for the past few days....
It's cooking
I suddenly have this urge to go learn how to cook...Haha, I guess maybe I am hungry.. :P Eh well, I will go see what I can learn from my Dad this weekend. Hopefully, the kitchen will stay the way it is even after I cook in it...haha :P

A Peculiar Book

This is a peculiar book you are holding. Words crafted in another language. Deeds done in a distant era. Events recorded in a far-off land. Counsel offered to a foreign people. This is a peculiar book.

It’s surprising that anyone reads it. It’s too old. Some of its writings date back five thousand years. It’s too bizarre. The book speaks of incredible floods, fires, earthquakes, and people with supernatural abilities. It’s too radical. The Bible calls for undying devotion to a carpenter who called himself God’s Son.

Logic says this book shouldn’t survive. Too old, too bizarre, too radical.

The Bible has been banned, burned, scoffed, and ridiculed. Scholars have mocked it as foolish. Kings have branded it as illegal. A thousand times over it the grave has been dug and the dirge has begun, but somehow the Bible never stays in the grave. Not only has it survived, it has thrived. It is the single most popular book in all of history. It has been the best-selling book in the world for years!

There is no way on earth to explain it. Which perhaps is the only explanation. The answer? The Bible’s durability is not found on earth; it is found in heaven. For the millions who have tested its claims and claimed its promises, there is but one answer—the Bible is God’s book and God’s voice.

As you read it, you would be wise to give some thought to two questions. What is the purpose of the Bible? and How do I study the Bible? Time spent reflecting on these two issues will greatly enhance your Bible study.

What is the purpose of the Bible?

Let the Bible itself answer that question.

Since you were a child you have known the Holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise. And that wisdom leads to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.(2 Tim. 3:15)

The purpose of the Bible? Salvation. God’s highest passion is to get his children home. His book, the Bible, describes his plan of salvation. The purpose of the Bible is to proclaim God’s plan and passion to save his children.

Happy Teachers' Day

Teacher's Day for me this year is a pretty memorable one...

And the ironic thing is, I am still a student...Haha! Well, my lecturers this semester has been really nice to my class of future teachers. Ms Ananthi gave us chocolates during our CCL tut yesterday and Mr Chew treated us to breakfast after CCS tutorial this morning..:P I enjoyed the Kaya toast very much, really thank them for their generousity! I mean, they are teachers too (they are only called in a different term - lecturers) and they not only have to teach on this school holiday but have to give their students a treat too...haha... But of coz, they gave a treat with a cheerful heart. :)

Other than this morning which gave me a little break, the rest of the week was complete madness...Had 2 quizzes this week and my head nearly wanted to split open with all that thinking of a project idea and web for CCE ...And after our lessons today, me and Janice had to start thinking for our CCL lesson plan which has to be presented next week... hmm.. we didn't really have a break on Friday after all but we had a great dinner together to celebrate Teachers' Day.. haha

Critical thinking, creative thinking, Thinking Schools Learning Nation, Questions that promote thinking + thinking about maths!! It seems no matter which module I attend, the topic is always about THINKING!!! I pity my brain!!
