Change

Everything around me is changing. Even I am changing and I don't deny it. The Holy Spirit inside me is slowly changing my heart and helping me to see things in a different perspective with each passing day...

I never expected that God would bring me closer to the people that I never thought possible... God was slowly replacing the envy, jealousy, pride and self-centredness in me with his great almighty love and helping me to love others just the way they are... What a great joy to now be able to feel happy for the blessings of the people around me instead of comparing myself with them and feeling bitter for not having what they have!!

God has also given me the grace and capacity to give up something which I never thought was possible.

In the past week when I felt really overwhealmed with the problems surrounding me, I chanced upon the story of Joseph in the Bible... and it reminded me that even during trials, God is at work in my life. In fact, now I really see trials as tools that God uses to help me develop the *fruit of the Spirit. The story of Joseph again reminded me that everything in life happens for a purpose and for a good one. We may not realise this purpose in the midst of our troubles but when we look back at it, we will realise that it was only necessary for it to happen in order for God to accomplish certain things in our lives.

God loves us too much to take a passive role in the shaping of our character.

Knowing this and trusting that God's timing and His plan is always the best were the two valuable lessons that I have learnt from the trial I am facing now.

* the Fruit of the Spirit
- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control
