What I have been up to

The holidays so far have been great for me. =) On the whole, I had a good rest and did some meaningful activities during this break. Here's a peek at what I have been doing:

1) Quiet Time

Quiet times are an indispensable part of my day. I spend about 1 hour with God every single morning before I start doing anything else. My quiet time is a time where I get to read His word in peace and allow Him to speak to me. Quiet Times help to set my soul at peace and start my day right. That is why it is indispensable! Previously, when the weather was fine, I had a "companion" during my quiet times in the morning and that companion is no other than that peculiar dragonfly (which I mentioned in the previous post) that flies to and fro outside my window! This dragonfly really completes the picturesque view that I already have outside my window and makes my quiet time so much more enjoyable!

The fact that I won't have the luxury of doing my quiet time at 8-9 am when I start on my practicum and when I start working next year makes me treasure all my quiet times now, even more.

2) Eating

Eating is one of my favourite activities.. :D But don't call me a pig!! Coz I eat in moderation... :P Of all the food that I have tried so far, the mee hoon kueh in Taman Sentosa is still the best. The soup is bland but yet it is nice... I guess you won't understand what I am saying until you try it urself..haha, so my description shall stop here. The taste is really unique, unlike any of the mee hoon kueh prepared in Singapore. In the past, City Beat went to interview the boss and to film the mee hoon kueh making process for the show.. Yep, it’s really that good!

3) Doing the Purpose Driven Life with Mum

After personally having experienced the benefits of doing the purpose driven life myself in June earlier this year, I decided to do this book together with Mum again in the hope that she will also be able to experience the incredible sense of hope, joy and peace that comes from doing and understanding this book. By God's grace, we have been rather consistent in doing it. In fact, we are only left with a few more days!! Praise God! ;) Discussing about the issues raised in the book has also brought us closer together as we discuss our hopes, fears and learning to trust God in times of difficulty. But most importantly, this book has helped us to better understand the character of God.

4) Table Tennis

I have been taking up table tennis lessons this holiday as well. Somehow or another, table tennis training sessions seems to be much more enjoyable and manageable as compared to the badminton training sessions which I took in secondary one. The training sessions are really fun because my coach is a really humourous person. He is very patient too. So far, his only complaint about me is that I am too "gentle" with my forehand hits... haha... Okay, hopefully I will roughen up and deliver some good smashes after a few more training sessions!
