This Holidays...

This holidays has been a rather eventful one for me. Not a very busy one but I guess I prefer it this way... events were nicely spaced out and gave me an opportunity to reflect on each one of them.

Went to Irene and Wenfu's wedding dinner at the beginning of the month and it was truly a night to remember. Other than having the opportunity to catch with some NIE friends such as Janice, Joanne, Gham Seng and Jessica, I thank God for the opportunity to witness a meaningful wedding such as theirs. The couple was earnest and sincere in their speeches, giving thanks firstly to God for protecting their relationship for the past 7 years and then next to their parents. And I have to add, Irene looked absolutely stunning that night as well!

And this is my table at the dinner and you can see the dashing groom as well... :)

Met up with Chingu and Liyi as well and managed to take this picture with them. Well, its been ages since we took a photo like this where we smiled so brilliantly. I certainly hope we are going to have one taken where all 6 of us are in the picture! Of course, other than smiling, we did other stuff at Causeway Pt as well. Chingu and Liyi are definitely formidable shoppers. I am not, I am more of a formidable eater. :)

And then there was the meeting with Jiahui who just returned from Hong Kong! I love the pineapple biscuits from there. Thanks! :) Completed my Christmas gift shopping together with Jia Hui and both of us felt immensely satisfied with our accomplishments!

Then there was also the last alpha session that I had last night together with other members of the church. It was a wonderful night which started off with a potluck, followed by a short talk by Pastor Kenny and a table discussion. The thing that I enjoyed the most out of all the alpha sessions are the discussions. As we raised our questions and shared our experiences about our relationship with Christ and with others, I felt that we have blessed each other more than we can think of. The pictures of last night will come later.

I just like to end here with these words from Rick Warren which I felt were particularly meaningful.

The Church provides the highest motivation.

Why do any of us do what we do in ministry? It’s not to make money, not to make a name for ourselves and not for duty to our nation. We do it out of love. Jesus stated it as the Great Commandment: “Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.” We wouldn’t do the hard work required to tackle these global giants for money, for fame, or for anything else. It just wouldn’t be worth it; we’d quit before the end.

We’re motivated to keep at the hard work of ministry because we love God, and our love for God compels us to love other people. It is love that never gives up; it is love that keeps moving forward despite the appearance of impossible odds; and it is love that outlasts any problem.

Great Is The Lord
From the moment I opened my heart
You gave me Your love from heaven above
King of Glory, Jesus You'll always be mine
Lord I love You, it's all I can say
You amaze me every moment, every day
My creator, Jesus my Lord, always
CHORUS:
From the depths of my heart to the heaven above
There I feel Your embrace and the warmth of Your love
I'm not afraid 'cause Jesus I know You are here
You are here...

You're my Saviour, redeeming grace
Generations will sing of Your praise
Be exalted forever and ever more
Back to CHORUS*

Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise
Great is the Lord, glorified* ---- repeated(glorified....)

Back to CHORUS (2x)

You are here...
From the depths of my heart and to the heaven above

You are here
There I feel Your embrace and the warmth of Your love
You are here

Na na na na..... na na na na na...... (repeated)
