Faithful God

"Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." Matthew 10: 39.

This was the verse that spoke to me after the prayer meeting that I attended last friday. I had been feeling spiritually dry and was struggling with some issues in life as well. I was weary after the sleepless nights and the lack of peace in my heart. The prayer meet was indeed necessary.... it allowed me to enjoy God once again....to enjoy his presence... And during the prayer meet, I could feel his finger gently pointing towards the insecurities still present in my heart and assuring me that He was a faithful God and yes, He knew my needs and He would take care of them.... if only I would first surrender everything to Him first.

And then on Sunday, my CG did a bible study on Ruth. That story was just a perfect illustration of the verse that spoke to me days earlier! Ruth was a selfless lady who gave up her prospects of future marriage and left her homeland to accompany her mother in law, Naomi back to her homeland. Naomi had just lost her husband and her two sons which includes Ruth's husband. Ruth sacrificed her future happiness out of her love and compassion for her mother in law. In the end, God rewarded Ruth more than she could ever ask for. God led her to a big-hearted man, Boaz and they together had a son who would be the grandfather of King David.

She had gave up her supposedly happiness to follow Naomi and her God, and God has richly rewarded her sacrifice in turn.

God is great, isn't he? I look forward to the next study on Ruth Chapter 2. :)

My secondary school classmates got married earlier in the month and that person is Liguo! It's a happy thing and I certainly wish him everlasting happiness with his bride. Do I feel the pressure? No, because everybody's timing for such things are different! And God's will for everyone's life is different too... :)

I was super happy that the HFG were in full attendance for the wedding too.... It's really been ages since ALL 6 of us met together.... hee

HFG...
