Let Me Be A Woman

I am now reading the book 'Let Me Be a Woman by Elisabeth Elliot' and I have a few moving excerpts from the book to share....

In order to learn what it means to be a woman, we must start with the One who made her...

Wherever you are .... be all there. Live to the hilt every situation that you believe to be the will of God.

Single life may only be a stage of a life's journey, but even a stage is a gift. God may replace it with another gift, but the receiver accepts His gifts with thanksgiving. This gift for this day. The life of faith is lived one day at a time, and it has to be lived - not always looked forward to as though the "real" living were around the next corner. It is today for which we are responsible. God still owns our tomorrow.

"Let not our longing slay the appetite of our living, " he wrote to me, and those words have helped me very often since. We accept and thank God for what is given, not allowing the not-given to spoil it.
