A silver lining

It's been 3 months since I updated this blog. Another 3 weeks before the school holidays and another 2 months before the end of year 2008!

So much has happened in this 3 months.... A looming global recession being the biggest thing that has been hogging the headlines in recent weeks. Things can really be so unpredictable, just a few months ago, the economy was booming and everything - housing prices and oil was going up. And now everything is crashing down.

It can seem depressing but I also believe that it is in times like these that people will come to truly know and appreciate what are the things that are truly important. Families will grow stronger as they ride out this adversity, children will grow mature as they learn to be more thrifty and perhaps help out their families and deny their many material wants. So my prayer is really that God will turn many hearts to Him for salvation, comfort and strength in the midst of this recession and that people will stop and spend time on what truly matters - human relationships.

For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Psalm 100:5
And this is his promise, no matter what the circumstances are.
